Help students master closed compound words (no hyphen, no space) with this fun and interactive compound nouns board game. Students combine two nouns using pictures and words to form new compound words while moving around the board. Perfect for ESL, ELL, small groups, centers, and literacy stations.
How It Works
Players roll a die or spinner to move forward on the board. Each time they land on a space, they draw a question card and solve it by identifying the correct compound noun. Students can record their answers on the included sheet for accountability and assessment.
Differentiated Levels
- Level 1: Students use image clues to form a compound word. Answer image is provided.
- Level 2: Students create the compound word using only the image clues (no answer image given).
- Level 3: Higher-level thinking: Students form compound nouns using only the provided words/pictures.
