This engaging Comparative & Superlative Adjectives Board Game gives students hands-on practice forming sentences with long and short adjectives. Designed for ESL, EFL, and ELL learners, the game focuses on using the positive form of one-, two-, and three-syllable adjectives—including several irregular forms. It’s an ideal grammar activity for centers, whole-group practice, small groups, or stations during writing and grammar lessons.
Students practice building accurate comparative and superlative sentences while moving around the board—making grammar review fun, interactive, and memorable. This resource works especially well after your adjective unit or when reviewing sentence structure and vocabulary expansion.
How to Play
All players start on the first square. Players roll a die (or draw a number card) and move forward accordingly:
- Landing on a “C” → Pick a Comparatives Card and form a correct comparative sentence.
- Landing on an “S” → Pick a Superlatives Card and form a correct superlative sentence.
- If the student cannot form the sentence correctly, they return to their previous square and wait for their next turn.
The first player to reach the FINISH square wins!
